As always, I’ll kick things off.
Edmund McMillen’s 2009 paper discussing his experiences through 10 years of independent art and game design resonated with me. It’s a fairly succinct list of how to be successful at game design, while managing to be a human being. I find they apply to work in general and even just for navigating life. I’ve been putting a lot of thought into numbers 12, 13, 18, and 23 as of late.
